Passed away peacefully at Columbus Residence in Vancouver. Survived by her loving husband Fred of 59 years, daughters Cynthia (Alan), Sherry, and son Robert (Brenda). Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Stacey Sakawsky; Jacqueline, Michael, and Michelle Kirby; Kassidi and Mitchell Kirk.
Pre-deceased by her brother Danny and grand-daughter Alicia. Lois was born in Vancouver in 1937. She met Fred soon after high school and they married in 1956. Following a brief time as a dental assistant, Lois chose a path in the health care field. She worked at Woodlands school as a Care Aide until her retirement in 1997. Her caring nature was reflected throughout her life. She treasured her family, and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing and loved to travel. Her warm personality and positive attitude sustained her throughout her life. Lois will be dearly missed by her many friends, extended family, and all those whose lives she touched. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 10th, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park – Garden Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C. would be greatly appreciated.
