Lucia Celio

February 11, 1939 – April 19, 2022

A graceful spirit, a giving heart and a beautiful soul. It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved Mother and Nonni.

She passed away peacefully on April 19, 2022 in the presence of her three children. The Lord has called her home to be reunited with the love of her life, our father Antonio, her first born son Dino, and her great grandson Jayden.

Lucia will always be in the hearts of her devoted children; Dino (Denise), Pina (Dino), Linda (Maurizio); her adoring grandchildren Jenna (Cam), Bria, Jerrica and Mateo.

Our mom was born in Cansano, L’Aquila, Italy on February 11, 1939 to Vito Amato and Regina Ruscitti who predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her three brothers Pasquale, Fiore and Rocco. Lucia will be lovingly remembered by her two amazing caregivers Jeanette and Regina, her dear friends and many family members. A very special thank you goes out to Dr. Joyce Choi, who went above and beyond.

Mom leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, compassion and selflessness. She taught us to love with our whole heart.

Visitation will be held from 7:30-9:00pm on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Corpus Christi Parish, 6350 Nanaimo Street, Vancouver. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, South Mausoleum, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby.
