Our beloved wonderful Mother wife sister Nona Zia Maria Giuseppa Ceradi (Cillis) passed away on October 13, 2024 after a brief and strong battle with cancer 4 months before her 95th birthday. Preceded in death by her husband Joseph (Giuseppe) Ceraldi, and her brother, Michael Cillis.
Maria is survived by her 3 adult children Terry (Robbie Joe Santino), Joe (Matteo), Roxanne, sister Carmela, and brother Rick. She is also survived by her sister Donata (Nateccia) her husband Domenico Antonio De Bonis and 5 nephews and their families in Pietragalla Potenza Italy in the region of Basilicata in southern Italy along with a number of wonderful relatives and friends here in Vancouver and in other parts of BC.
Prior to our Mother’s cancer she had been in a long term care facility Nicola Lodge in Port Coquitlam BC due to lack of space in Burnaby, where our Mother lived for many many years with her family before going into a long term care due to mobility issues. For the last few weeks of our dear mothers’ life, she had been transferred to Dania Home which is a 5 minute drive from where our mother lived in her own home prior to going into long term care.
The family was overjoyed at having our Mother so close to home. The family would visit a number of times a day including a nightly trip to kiss her good night each night as it was so close. We could hardly wait for the spring and summer of 2025 to arrive so we could take our dear mom out into the grounds outside Dania Home which is situated in somewhat of a green belt with flower gardens right out her window in the room she was in.
But it was not to be. The only consoling part in all of this is that our wonderful mother is no longer suffering and at peace reunited with her parents, grandparents, brother, and other family members she loved dearly along with other family members and friends who have left us. A very special human being my wonderful mother was: One of a kind The Best of the Best.
Rest in peace, our wonderful amazing mother with a heart so big and good towards everyone. Loan us your strength mom and help us through this very very difficult trying time without you with us. We miss you so.
Ti amiamo sempre cara cara mama
