Maria Luigia Martin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Martin at the age of 85 years. She is survived by her husband Giuseppe, her children Peter (Cindy), Dino (Cindy), Cristina, grandchildren Colleen, Jared, Caitlin, Landon, Tanner, great-grandchild, Riley, sister, Anelina (Eliseo) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Maria was a long-time fixture in her east end neighbourhood where she enjoyed walks with friends, socializing and volunteering at the Italian Centre. She most enjoyed preparing elaborate meals for her family ensuring no one left the table hungry. Her sense of humour, devotion to friends and family, and kindness to all will be missed. Visitation will be held between 3-4:30p.m. on Thursday June 27, 2013 at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings St., Burnaby, BC. with Prayers to follow between 7-9p.m. at St. Jude's Catholic Church 3078 Renfrew Street, Vancouver, B.C. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. on Friday June 28, 2013. In lieu of flowers donations the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
