Mrs. Marija Stojakovic

Marija Stojakovic, age 74, passed away peacefully at home on 13 Dec 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on 25 Aug 1951 in Sor, Donji Podgradci, Republika Srpska to Pantelija and Draginja Dojcinovic.

Mara was a loving and devoted wife to Stanoja for 57 years, a cherished mother to Milan (Karnelle), Natasha (Vojin) and Peter; a beloved grandmother to Milos, Elena, Maya, Nicholas, Sasha, Stella and Hope.

She will be deeply missed by her extended family, including her siblings Milka (Milan), Bosa, Mile (Nena), Marko (Ljilja), Mileva (Danilo), Lela (Milan), many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her brother, Branko (Ljilja).

Throughout her life, Mara was known for her stoic strength, kindness, dedication and loyalty to family and community. She lived a life of service, was always there to help and support others. Her smile and mischievous laugh will be forever etched in our minds.

Funeral service will be held at Forest Lawn Chapel, 3789 Royal Oak St, Burnaby, on Wednesday, 24 December 2025 at 10:00 am with burial to follow.

Reception will be held at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, 7837 Canada Way, Burnaby.
