Mario Aere

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mario Aere on August 25, 2015. Mario will always be loved by his wife Teresa, his children Christina (Jan), Sandra (Danny) & Dennis (Polyana). He was the very proud nonno of Isaac, Elle, Grace, Hannah & Sophie. Mario was born in Chiarmacis, Comune di Teor, Udine, Italy on August 11, 1938 to Raffaelle & Maria. He was the seventh of eight children and was predeceased by his parents and five of his siblings. He is also survived by two sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Mario came to Canada in January 1960. He was a man of simple pleasures, devoted to his family. Mario had a 30+ year battle with neurological disabilities. Although his disabilities took away his independence, he was still able to enjoy watching sports ' soccer was his passion. Heartfelt thanks & gratitude to family and friends who never wavered and gave so unconditionally to Mario and to us with visits, love, support & prayers. We wouldn't have made it without you. Many thanks to home support (Bayshore, Community and St Elizabeth). Your help enabled us to keep Mario at home for several years. To the staff at Fellburn Care Centre who loved Mario in so many ways, thank you for all your wonderful care, patience, compassion & support. A visitation will be held at 7:00-8:00pm on Monday, August 31st at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 1st from Sacred Heart Parish 525 Campbell Avenue, Vancouver, BC. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC. To respect Mario's wishes, there will be no reception following the funeral. We request no flowers but if you wish to honour Mario's memory, a donation to the MS Society or to the Fellburn Fellowship Society would be most appreciated.
