Mario Dente

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mario Dente at the age of 93. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He passed away August 4, 2022 peacefully at Renfrew Care Centre in Vancouver. He was born on November 15, 1928 in Montefredane, Avellino, Italy. Predeceased by his parents Federico and Maria Dente along with his loving wife Ida. Mario is survived by his loving family. Children Antonio (Filomena) and Robert (Rosa). His grandchildren Jennifer (Shawn), Nancy (Denis), Mario (Julia) and Kristina (Richard). His great- grandchildren Ariana, Olivia, Ryan, Sienna and Marco. He is also survived by 2 of his 8 siblings Genoeffa and Maliella, living in Italy. Along with countless nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mario was a caring, loving, kind, generous and humble man with a heart of gold. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday August 10 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the chapel of Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings St. Burnaby. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday August 11, 2022 at 1:30 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish 555 Slocan St. Vancouver. Entombment will follow at Ocean View Burial Park, South Mausoleum, Burnaby, BC.

In Lieu of flowers, donations in Mario’s honour may be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation.
