Mary Louise Gerhart (nee` Ludwig) passed away peacefully on September 9, 2015, at the age of 97, surrounded by her loving family. Mary is predeceased by her sons, Roy Gerhart and Bruce Gerhart, her grandson Brent Gerhart, her husband of 71 years, Emery Gerhart, 5 brothers and 6 sisters. She is survived by her sister Rosa Baird, daughters Joan Brode (Bernd), and Audrey Raines (Chris), 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mary was a mother, a wife, homemaker, caregiver, gardener, chef, baker, artist, poet and a teacher of life skills. She was brave and beautiful from the inside out and lived a rich and full life. Her final 9 years were spent in care at Adanac Park Lodge, where her dear Emery was until his death in 2007. The staff and residents loved Mary and watched over her with tender care. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 1300 Park Gate Ave North Vancouver, B.C. on Sunday, September 20 at 1 pm.
