

Mrs. Miu Han Lu, age 96, of Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Burnaby General Hospital after a courageous fight with illness and surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Lu was born on Friday, July 31, 1914 in Toyshan, Guangdong, China to parents Chan Fong Wah and Lu Ngan who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are her three sisters, her brother, and her husband.
Mrs. Lu was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother who spent much of her early life supporting her children through times of scarcity. A survivor of the Japanese invasion of China, she proceeded with courage to bring her children to Hong Kong. Despite poverty and hardship, she persevered, creatively encouraging, nurturing, and inspiring them to success.
In 1976, Mrs. Lu immigrated to Canada to start a new life. She remained the strength and heart of the family and lovingly took care of her children and grandchildren, sharing with them many happy times. She was especially famous for her superb cooking, gardening, and storytelling skills. Full of knowledge and generosity, she continued to teach and care for her family until the very end, always putting the welfare of her children and grandchildren before her own.
Mrs. Lu was an incredibly brave, resourceful, and intelligent woman with a ready smile and a loving heart, who persevered through great adversity to safeguard her beloved family and lead them to happiness, success, and prosperity. She is survived by her two sons and her four grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC, and where a Funeral Service will be held Thursday, Aprill 8 at 10:00 am. An interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Burnaby, BC, Fiona Lau, Funeral Director.
