Nancy Marguerite Slavin

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother Nancy Slavin. She was born September 30, 1931 in Vancouver and passed away February 24, 2024 in Coquitlam. She was predeceased by her loving husband Ron in 2009. Survived by her children Tony (Dianne), Kelly, Brent (Katrina); grandchildren; great grandchildren; brother Gerry; sister Elisabeth and cousin Norma. Nancy was a longtime resident of Burnaby Heights and attended Gilmore Elementary and Burnaby North High School. A few years after their marriage in 1953, Ron and Nancy purchased their forever home in the Brentwood area of North Burnaby. After raising their children, she began working in the family business at Burnaby Funeral Directors now known as Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel until her retirement in 1999. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity, strength and full of love for those who went before her. Funeral Service will be held at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 12:00 Noon. Entombment will follow at the South Mausoleum at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby. Our deepest appreciation and thanks go out to mom’s care team at the Madison Care Centre on 1 South and 2 North who took such wonderful care of her for the past 8 ½ years.
