Paolo Marinelli

April 10, 1938 - November 24, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paolo Marinelli who died at the age of 85 on November 24, 2023. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving wife of 64 years Rita, children Rose, John (Lee), Tony (Christine) and grandchildren Anthony (Daniela), Jordana (Antonio), Giovanni (Olivia), Jorja and Dante.

Paolo was born in Vinchiaturo, Campobasso, Italy on April 10, 1938 and immigrated to Montreal in November 1964. He later moved to Vancouver in 1969. Paolo was known to be a charismatic and outgoing man who loved spending time with his family and friends. His pastimes included playing cards and meeting up with his friends at the local coffee bar, making homemade wine, sausages, pasta, and other Italian recipes, tending to his garden and pond, and traveling with his wife and family. Paolo is predeceased by his father Antonio and mother Rosa and will be greatly missed by his brothers and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and relatives in New York, Toronto, Montreal, Argentina, UK, and Italy. Paolo will always be remembered for his larger and louder than life personality.

Visitation for all will be held on Wednesday, December 6th from 7:30-9:30pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home located at 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby. Mass will be held on Thursday, December 7th at 11:00am at Holy Cross Parish located at 1450 Delta Ave, Burnaby.
