Pasquale Ferrara

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Nonno, Pasquale Ferrara. Our Nonno was born on May 5, 1937, in Italy and he passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. He will be deeply missed by his children; Rita, Randy (Jodi), Nina (Danny), Lidia (Matt), and Marisa; his grandchildren Bridgette, Nicole, Olivia, Michael, Kane, Gabrielle, and Nicah; Brother; Lorenzo (Jeanette). Predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Concetta Ferrara; his brothers Ettore and Pierino, and his parents Alfonso and Giuseppina.

Our Nonno’s greatest joy was spending time with his family around the kitchen table. He always had an open door, and his table was full of fresh cheese, homemade prosciutto, and wine. Our Nonno had an infectious smile, a warm laugh, and a kind heart. He was a hard worker and always put others before himself. He and our Nonni built our family on the foundation of love and support and instilled in us at a young age the importance of family and tradition. We miss him dearly, and we will honour him and keep his spirit alive through our actions and the memories that we share with him. We find comfort in knowing that Nonno is reunited with Nonni, smiling down on us. We love you Nonno, we miss you, and we will see you again.

We want to give a heartfelt thank you to his healthcare team: Dr. Iris Lui, his family doctor, and the Respiratory Unit at VGH.

Prayers will be offered at Holy Cross Parish 1450 Delta Ave, Burnaby, on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 7:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Parish, on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10:30 am. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Grand Mausoleum in Burnaby.

In lieu of flowers or donations, please have a family gathering in Nonno’s honour to eat, drink, and dance because “you BE-LUNG together”.
