In the arms of his sister Marianne, with caregiver Michele holding his hand, and surrounded by the love of his family and friends, Paul Cloutier passed away peacefully at Royal Columbian Hospital following complications from pneumonia. Paul is survived by his loving mother, Marie Cloutier, his brother Tom (Merry), sisters Marianne (Alan) and Jacquie (Mike). Paul will also be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews and great-nephews, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and BACI friends and caregivers. Paul was predeceased by his father, John Cloutier (2003). Paul was an active guy, and always had a smile for a pretty girl. Throughout his life he enjoyed singing, dancing (with a wiggle), swimming, bowling, and many years participating in Special Olympics. Paul was very proud of his DVD collections: Star Wars, Batman and Indiana Jones. He was an avid Canucks fan! Paul travelled to many places in BC, including the Island, Whistler and Kamloops. With his parents, he also visited his brother Tom in Elkford, the NWT, the Yukon, and Juneau, Alaska. Paul was at the Calgary Stampede a few times, and made two trips with his sister Jacquie (again to visit his brother) to the Gold Coast in Australia. Paul had great fun on his trips to Hawaii and Disneyland with his BACI friends. Paul enjoyed many holiday and birthday events with his family. His 49th Elvis Birthday Party was an extravaganza, and will long be remembered! A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church, 1450 Delta Ave. Burnaby, on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. A viewing will be available prior to the Mass. Fr. Maciej Wos officiating. The Mass will be followed by interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave. A lunch will be served at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Home & Chapel, 4276 Hastings St., Burnaby, following the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Down Syndrome Research Foundation, RE: Dementia and Aging in Place, 1409 Sperling Avenue, Burnaby, BC Canada V5B 4J8, would be appreciated. The past three years have been a difficult journey for Paul. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace. We see Paul singing and dancing to Elvis and Beatles tunes, and enjoying a beer and cheeseburger with his Dad in Heaven!
