Philip was predeceased by his brother, Darcy, in 2020. He is survived by his wife King, sister Jennifer, and his children Michael, David, and Daniel. Philip was born and raised in Burnaby. After attending UBC to obtain his Bachelor of Applied Science (Engineering) in 1973, Philip worked for several engineering firms as a structural engineer, most recently for Somerset Engineering. He obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from UBC in 1984 where he met his first wife, Linda, and they had three sons. He was very supportive of his sons and attended many soccer matches or swim meets. Philip was an avid sportsman: wrestling in high school and playing rugby at a Provincial level in his youth and later with the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club, until he hung up his cleats in his forties. He continued to be active throughout his life and once ran in the Vancouver Marathon in just over 4 hours. He was semi-retired and was appreciated by his colleagues for his dry wit and sense of humour. He made a number of trips to Thailand where he met King; they married and spent many happy years together. He liked to experience new places and travelled to Europe, Asia and the USA.
At Philip's request there will be no service. His internment will be held on September 7, 2021 at 12:30 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC
