Pietro Colacone

March 1, 1935 – August 1, 2021

With heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, husband and grandfather Pietro.

Pietro was born in Panni, Foggia, Italy on March 1, 1935. He is predeceased by his parents Saverio and Angela, his brothers Giovanni, Antonio and sister Maria.

Pietro is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 47 years, Letizia and daughters and son in laws; Angela (Roy), Teresa (Franco) and Maria (Marco) and his grandchildren; Nathan, Keira, Francesco, Giuliano and Arianna. He is also survived by his brother, Michele and sister, Giuseppina along with cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to acknowledge and extend their deepest gratitude to the great care provided by the nurses and care givers at Carlton Gardens Care Centre, Burnaby, where he spent the last of his 3 years battling his illness with Dementia.

Pietro will always be remembered for his love of music, dancing, drawing, and playing the harmonica and piano. In his earlier years he was avid gardener and even won many awards for his large, beautiful and well-maintained gardens. If he wasn’t in the garden, you would always find him Monday and Tuesday nights watching WWE. He enjoyed making wine in his basement, even built a full-on cantina in his storage room when him and his wife downsized into a condo. Pietro will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 12th from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, followed by Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 13th at 11:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 555 Slocan St, Vancouver.
