Her father immigrated to Canada in the early 1880’s, and worked to help build some of the most dangerous parts of the new Canadian Pacific’s transcontinental railway in British Columbia before settling to a farm on the Musqueam Reserve in South Vancouver.
Priscilla’s mother, Fong Zue, was born in Sidney, British Columbia in 1918, making Priscilla herself a second generation Canadian. Fong Zue was the second wife of Loo Chow, meaning that in total, Priscilla had 11 siblings and step-siblings. Priscilla was pre-deceased by siblings, Ernest, Wilbur, Faye, Gain and Susie and step-siblings Nora, Gim, Keing, Nam, Quan and Kelly.
Priscilla and Allan were married in February 1959, and their first child, Dennis arrived in December of the same year. The next spring, in 1960, Allan and Priscilla purchased their house at 545 E 46th, where they would reside for the next 60 years.
Dennis’ siblings arrived in 1961 with the birth of Denise and in 1965 with the birth of Dixie.
While Allan worked at a Shingle mill, which is now the Burnaby Barnet Marine Park, and then at Richmond Plywood, Priscilla stayed home to raise the kids.
Priscilla loved visiting with friends and family, taking and sharing photographs and always enjoyed going out to eat, both Chinese and Western style food.
Needing more day to day assistance, and encumbered by the many stairs at 545, Allan and Priscilla moved into an assisted living home at Granville Gardens, at 49th and Granville. Sadly their move to Granville Gardens in March of 2020 was poorly timed, as the pandemic limited their freedom to have visitors and all the outings and social events were curtailed.
Eventually both Allan and Priscilla needed more assistance than Granville Gardens could provide, which prompted their move to the Burnaby Agecare facility.
Allan passed away on January 27th, 2023.
Priscilla persisted through the loss of her vision, but succumbed after a short respiratory illness, on March 28th, 2025.
Priscilla was survived by her son Dennis, and partner Maple Chow, daughter Denise and her husband Don Dhalian, daughter Dxie and her husband Kenneth Pukanich and grand children Dayton Pukanich and Kyra Pukanich.
We will miss you, but you will live on in our hearts.
