Ray passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness fought with spirit, dignity, and acceptance.
Predeceased by older brother, John, and 8 year old daughter, Susanne. Lovingly survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Llewellynne, daughters Joyce and Carolynne, son-in-law Don, grandchildren Lauren and Adam, and his relatives in Canada, Chile, Australia, and the Netherlands.
Ray's life was focused on family, but he also took pride in his 35 years working at the CBC, both in radio and TV. His interest in photography captured a lifetime of memories and documented his love of travel, whether on road trips, many cruises, or relaxing in Palm Desert with family and friends. Always supportive of Llew's career as a harpist, he particularly enjoyed in retirement his self-described role as her roadie. Ray will be remembered for his witty humour, conversational knowledge on any topic, and affable personality.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family graveside service was held May 7, 2021. Arrangements were entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home and Burial Park with appreciation.
Llew would like to express a special thank you to the compassionate caregivers and staff at Vancouver Coastal Health.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Zajac Ranch for Children or The Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
