Born in Liessa, Provincia di Udine, Italy, Rina immigrated to Canada in 1962 with her late husband, Pietro Dugaro. They settled in Vancouver to build a life full of opportunity and love for their family.
Rina dedicated her life to the happiness of others, working tirelessly to support her loved ones. She was a nurturing mother and grandmother, playing a pivotal role in raising her children and grandchildren, instilling in them her values of strength, determination, and a commitment to family.
Rina spent her formative years working in Milan, Italy and accomplished her specialized training as a seamstress. While she raised her family, she spent many hours crafting outfits for friends and family. She took pride in creating bridesmaid and flower girl dresses for all her children's weddings.
In her later years, Rina was gainfully employed as a Care Aide at Central Park Manor, taking care of the elderly for over 25 years.
Her passions were as vibrant as her spirit. Rina was an extraordinary cook, known for her authentic Italian dishes that brought her family together around the table. Her love for gardening was evident in the blooms and vegetables she tenderly cultivated, a reflection of her care for all living things.
Rina will be deeply missed by her children, Rosemary Dugaro, Daniela Dugaro, and Steven Dugaro, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Her legacy of love, hard work, and dedication lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Nurses, Care Aides and all the staff at Villa Carital for their support and loving care of Rina.
A celebration of Rina's life will take place on February 28th, 2025 at 11am at St. Mary's Church. Please contact the family for more details.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to BC Children's Hospital, honoring Rina’s deep love for children and her generous spirit.
