It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of my Mom and our grandmother and great grandmother Rose Kuzik (née Turchak) on May 21st, 2021 at age of 99 years. Rose was predeceased by her husband of sixty-two years, Michael, and her son Jerry. She will be missed by her loving family, daughter Joanne, grandchildren Amanda, Michael, Rebecca and son-in-law James and great grandson Jack. Rose is also survived by her sister Teena and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Birmingham, Saskatchewan, Rose was seventh of ten children. She came to British Columbia at the age of 18 where she met her husband Mike at the church and they set out to start a beautiful life and family together.
Rose had a long and memorable career of volunteer work. She was an honorary president of the Ladies League and was a vital member of the Lady Vancouver Club for ten years. Winning first prizes at the P.N.E, Rose had a passion, love, and a talent for cooking, sewing, knitting, beading her Christmas stockings and gardening.
Rose was a larger-than-life figure in her family and a beloved member of the Catholic community. She is known and will be remembered for her strong and ‘feisty’ personality. Rose touched so many lives in so many ways. She was known for her strength, her wisdom, her kindness, and unconditional love. Rose lived an honest life. We will cherish Rose’s memory and hold her dear and close in our hearts, always and forever.
Heaven is welcoming an amazing angel.
Please note, due to Covid-19, there will be a private family service.
