Roy Guy Poy Quon

It's with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father (Roy) Guy Poy Quon on May 2 in New Westminster at the age of 76. He is deeply missed by his loving wife Grace and 4 children, Allan, Raymond, William, and Yvonne, daughter-in-law Jocelyn, son-in-law Besnik, along with his 3 grandchildren, Melissa, Joshua, and Isabella. He is fondly remembered as a kind, loving and thoughtful man treating everyone as his friend. He started out working on farms with his father, and then he became a chef working at various restaurants around Vancouver. Later, with his wife Grace became owner, chef, and restaurateur and hotel operator when they lived in Saskatchewan. Then he joined the BC Ferries Corporation where he worked for 32 years retiring in 2001 as a Terminal Attendant. His passion was cooking for family and friends, especially the seafood he caught off the dock after his shifts. He also liked to tinkering and fixing things. Most recently, along with his wife, Grace, they enjoyed travelling and taking care of their grandchildren. He was an active member of the Quan Lung Sai Tong Association. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby on Tuesday, May 14th, 2013 at 1:30 pm. Interment to follow in Ocean View Burial Park.
