Penso che un sogno così non ritorni mai più'¦ A great man who filled our hearts with love and our lives with his music, laughter and dancing has passed away. Sammino appreciated more than anything time spent together with his family and friends. He was passionate for coffee and cribbage, pasta e fagioli, horses and westerns, tango and la tarantella. He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Leanna (Elio), Julianna (Mark), Laura (Vincenzo); his grandchildren who gave him immense joy, Maria, Sofia, Luca, Nico, Bruno, Emma and Stefano; his supportive siblings and inlaws, Nicola (Romana), Eliseo, Terry, Settino, Anna (Gordy) and Julie as well as the mother of his children, Franca and the Luongo family. He was a favourite to many nieces and nephews to whom he was lovingly referred to as 'good olʼ Uncle Sam' and many cousins, paesani and friends whose world he made brighter by his presence. He is reunited now with his father and mother, Francesco Giuseppe and Maria; siblings, Gina, Antonio, Irene and Mario; and in-laws, Antonio, Pasquale and Diane. Prayers will be offered Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 5:00pm and funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:00am at Holy Cross Church in Burnaby. Inurnment to follow at a later date at Valley View Cemetery in Surrey. In lieu of flowers, enjoy a glass of wine and a dance with someone you love.
