

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Shui King Mah. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her family. She is survived by her children, Sherry (Roy), Jerry (Diana), Susan (Henry) and Sandra (Dave). Shui King Mah was predeceased by her loving husband, Woon Chiu Mah, her eldest son Perry and her second son, Terry. Shui King Mah loved her grandchildren, Tammy (Darcy), Bruce, Clifford (Karen), Larissa (Ben), Gregory, Richard (Gina), Kimberly (Noel), Kaitlyn (Timothy), Brandon, Chloe (Alex), Kristofer, Nicholas and her great grandchildren, Breona, Hayden, Bradley, Curtis, Olivia, Nathaniel, Elise, Hana and Noah.
Shui King Mah was born on September 17, 1925 in Taishan,Guangdong, China. In 1958, she traveled to Vancouver with her 4 children, to be reunited with her husband. Shui King Mah worked various jobs to help with a growing family when an opportunity arose for her and her husband to own and operate a restaurant. For 25 years, they proved to be successful restaurateurs of Mah’s Chinese Restaurant.
In her retirement, she became a bonsai hobbyist and when not tending to her bonsai, she enjoyed vegetable gardening, cooking, sewing, knitting, spending time with her family as well as socializing with friends and neighbours.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to SUCCESS Simon K.Y. Lee Seniors Care Home in her honour. Donation forms will also be available at the service.
