Siu Song Go

Mr. Go Siu Song (Henry Yang), 91, of Burnaby, BC, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025 at the Burnaby Hospital, after a brief bout of infection. Henry was born in FooChow, China to Mr. & Mrs. Yang Keng Guan. He was the firstborn of 3 children - the older brother to Robert and Nena. Henry worked as an Insurance Underwriter in the Philippines for 50 years before retiring and relocating to Canada. He met Rose in 1958, and they married in 1960. Together they had four children - David, Susan, Maribeth, and Peter. Despite modest means, he shared his love of food with his family - never skimping on this basic necessity, and supported all four children through higher education. Henry worked tirelessly to provide his children with every opportunity to reach their highest potential, and he lived to see them achieve it. In his youth, Henry was an avid photographer and ten-pin bowler, a competitive swimmer, a weekend angler, and an aspiring handyman. In retirement, he spent his mornings swimming at Burnaby’s recreation centres and exploring BC’s Lower Mainland on foot and by public transit. He delighted in Vancouver’s vast array of multicultural cuisine and eagerly took every opportunity to share meals with family and friends at his favourite restaurants.

Henry is predeceased by his parents.

Henry is survived by Rose - his wife of 65 years, his children - David (MaryAnne), Susan (Tibor), Maribeth (Danny), Peter (Gailya), his grandchildren - Christopher, Veronica, Narissa, Faithann (Nathaniel), David Michael, Daniel Edward, and last but not least, the family’s most recent addition - his first great grandchild Hector.
