On October 16, 2013 in peaceful sleep, Steve passed into the care of the Lord and is reunited with his wife Jessie Jane and daughter Dorene. Our sadness is shared by family left behind who honour Steve’s memory: children Jane (Clifford); John (Sherry); Daryl; Rick (Rhona); Alana; and Phillip, husband of the late Dorene. He was a loving Grandpa to Stephen (Tabea); Jarrett; Ryan (SunHee); Stacey; Jesse; Casey (Brian); Tiffany (Jason); Sabrina; Brianna; Dylan; Jorden and was blessed with 9 great-grandchildren. Steve was born on August 23, 1920 in Bellis, Alberta and raised in Cranbrook, BC. He met Jessie Jane in Moyie in what is affectionately known as the “famous bicycle incident”. They married on December 27, 1941. Steve and Jessie raised their family in Vancouver where they spent the rest of their days watching the family grow and prosper. His rocking chair lay still but he will always sit in our hearts with much love and affection as a warmhearted, kind and dare we say stubborn man when it came to his candy. He was at peace and longingly wanted to be reunited with Jessie Jane. He is survived by brothers Bill and Mike, sister Kay as well as sisters-in-law Josie and Mary. Steve will be laid to rest at a Graveside service on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 starting at 11:30am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Section: Summit. Please meet at the Graveside at 11:15 am)
