Dear Cousin Joan,

It's Marguerite (Crowe) Murray here.  I was very sorry to read of Steve's passing and I would like to attend the service next Tuesday.

I have fond childhood memories of Steve,  we had just arrived in Vancouver in around 1966-67 and after staying with Great Aunt Mabel and Uncle Bill Bateman for a few weeks I know Steve helped my father Barry Crowe arrange a Pediatrician for us and helped us with getting oriented to the lower mainland.  I also remember Steve to be kind to children (I would have been 4  and my sister Renata only 3), funny and patient when we visited your home on one or two occasions.   Dad always had great things to say about Steve and yourself cousin Joan,  I think the last time we saw you was at a family celebration of yours; an anniversary party?  at a hall in Burnaby in the early 2000's?   Dad died in 2007 so it was before then.   
To Mike, Peter and Valerie,  I'm so sorry for the loss of your Dad but glad that you were able to have so many wonderful years together.

To: Joan, Tony and family: Sincerest condolences from Milan Uzelac and family. Steve was one of a kind, we were all blessed to have known him.

I have a memory as a ten year old on a bright, sunny day,  in 1958, standing on the corner of Penticton and Hastings when a green 1958  Poniac hardtop  rumbled by at 5 mph, (this was before  metric),  windows open with Steve at the wheel,, left hand on the drivers window propping up the roof, right hand wrist draped over the top of the steering wheel, music cranked up  loud,, thumping to the beat of the day -  the shear  embodiment of COOL !

Steve was such a fun and cheerful guy. We met him and joan through Cody and lacrosse as our son and him played together for many years. They came to so many tournaments and were the best grandparents, always so supportive. He had a great wit and chill vibe about him. Will never forget seeing him sunbathing in his speedo on a picnic table when we were at  a tournament in theOkanagon in the summer. Rest well Steve. 💕

Spent 20 plus years working with steve, one of the few friends I had at the grain elevator,many good memories,taught me a lot about croatia.I remember the love he had for soccer.

Valerie my condolences to you all.  Joan my heart goes out to you on the loss of the love of your life.

I will always remember Steve so fondly with the special times that I have been a part of your family for so long.  His sense of humor and kindness was never lost on me and it endeared him to me instantly.

I know that the whole family will feel a tremendous loss of such a wonderful man.  I know you all hold special memories and I pray that they give you some peace thinking of them.
