Grandmother to 17 grandchildren
Great-grandmother to 15 great-grandchildren
Teresita was born in San Miguel, Bulacan, Philippines on June 09, 1933 to Marcos G. Catu and Rosario S. Catu. She spent her early years in San Miguel. The Catu family relocated to Baguio City in the 1940s where her father was assigned as a public school teacher and later, the police department. It was there where she met and married Celedonio (Onying) Dipasupil on June 1951. The Dipasupil family originally came from Bauan, Batangas and settled down in Baguio City in the late 1930s. Teresita and Celedonio raised their seven (7) children there and continued the family business. However, Celedonio at only 66 years old passed on October 1990. The family eventually moved to Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada in 1991.
As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Teresita's love knew no bounds. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, laughter, and home cooked meals where everyone was welcome. She embodied the true essence of family, nurturing and supporting each member with love and guidance.
In the face of life's challenges, she remained a pillar of strength and positivity, inspiring all who knew her to embrace life with grace and resilience. She had an unshakable belief and trust in God with whatever problems came her way.
Teresita was always generous, patient, kind, gracious and even tempered. People often said that her smile lights up the room. If she had a bucket list, all the items would have been ticked off. She attained her life’s goals and dreams of being blessed with a loving family, proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and spent quality time with her great-grandchildren; traveled to other countries and embarked on religious pilgrimages. In the last days of her journey, Teresita was surrounded by family, love, music and prayers. It was indeed a life well lived.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family members and friends.
Teresita will be forever loved and fondly remembered.
