Tony Man Chung Ho (“Tony”) passed peacefully amongst loved ones on February 13, 2025, at Burnaby Hospital. He is survived by Loresa, his wife of 40 years; daughter Emily, son-in-law Preston, and grandson Jaime; daughter Stephanie, and son-in-law Raymond.
Tony was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Shek Kip Mei (石硤尾), Kowloon. He had many fond memories of elementary school and spending time with his grandma there. Tony was the eldest of six children and would pave the way for his family’s immigration to Canada. At the age of fourteen, he immigrated to Vancouver and enrolled into Britannia Secondary School in 1968. He quickly rose in popularity and made many life-long friends through spearheading group activities such as basketball games, snooker matches, picnics, and karaoke parties. After graduating from secondary school, he went to Langara College for a year, which, unbeknownst to him, started his career as an automotive car salesman from a summer job opportunity at Royal Pontiac Buick (West Vancouver) in 1974. He decided not to return to school that Fall and moved to Carter Pontiac Buick (Burnaby) – now known as Carter GM – in 1989, marking a 50-year tenure in automotive sales.
During those years, Tony also met the love of his life, his wife, Loresa. They met on a blind date and got married 6 months later in November 1984. After getting married, Tony and Loresa moved to North Vancouver to start a family, raising two beautiful daughters, Emily, and Stephanie. Tony loved his job but adored his family even more; he always treated his colleagues and customers with utmost respect and honesty which contributed to his achievements and accolades as Top Salesman in the industry. During days off, he would spend time with family and kept many traditions going for years such as New Years Day brunch at the Pan Pacific and Mah Jong marathons with his brothers and sister-in-law over statutory holidays. The rest of his down time would be spent watching sports, especially, his lifelong dedication and loyalty to the Vancouver Canucks. Tony has NEVER missed watching a game if he could help it!
Though not a Christian at the time, Tony always supported his wife and daughters’ beliefs, looking forward to attending Church Summer Retreats and Christmas Eve Service every year. He often shares photos and stories with everyone and anyone about his work and family, especially major events in his life such as his daughters’ weddings and the birth of his grandson, Jaime.
Tony will be remembered, loved, and dearly missed by his family and friends.
Family and friends are encouraged to leave messages of condolences and share memories of Tony below.
