Val passed away peacefully on November 2, 2023 at the age of 92. Val is predeceased by his wife, Irene to whom he was married for 60 years. He is survived by his sons, Remi and Gary, his daughter, Jocelyn, and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his longtime companion Akile, and her family.
Val is best known for the tower crane company he and Irene established in 1974, and then built along with his sons into a company known for exceptional service, reliable equipment, and an unparalleled safety record. He started with a single crane in the West End and left a company whose cranes continue to shape Greater Vancouver skylines.
