Bonnie was born January 24, 1941, in Victoria, B.C. and passed away peacefully with her beloved family by her side on Monday, October 28, 2013 after a courageous struggle with ALS. Since her diagnosis in September 2012, Bonnie continued to live her life with dignity and grace. She will be forever missed by her loving husband, Bob, daughter, Carolyn, sons, Robbie and Dougie (Mary), grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Jacob, Nicholas, and Ryan, and many members of her large extended family.
Bonnie spent her early years in Victoria and then moved to Burnaby as a teenager where she met her future husband, Bob. Together they raised their family on Capitol Hill where they lived until 2013.
Bonnie was a proud employee at both CAALFA and the TWU and retired in 2003. She enjoyed being a member of the Capitol Hill Community Hall all the while balancing her role as a much-loved grandmother who devoted many hours to her grandchildren’s activities. She kept close friendships with Pat, Marie, and Carol all of whom she had known since high school. Although fortunate enough to travel throughout Canada, the U.S.A., and Europe, Bonnie was happiest in her beloved Vancouver. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at The Chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Society of B.C. Our family is forever grateful to the exceptional support of family, friends, and staff at Burnaby Hospital,
“Rest in peace, sweet angel.”
