Vincenzo Caruso

With sadness and love, I wish to announce the passing of Vincenzo Caruso at home with loved ones on June 15, 2023, in Maple Ridge, BC.Vincenzo was born to parents Caterina and Francesco Caruso on April 1, 1938, in Calabria, Italy and immigrated to Vancouver, BC at a young age to start his life in Canada.

Vincenzo worked for the railway before settling into the role of a meat cutter that allowed him to work in town. Vincenzo shared his love for the railway and the adventures it took him on.

Vince as we fondly refer to him loved travel and language and spoke French, Italian and Spanish fluently. His passion in life was learning the language of countries he visited and played the guitar and the accordion and thoroughly enjoyed opera music. On his last day I shared with him Andrea Bocelli – Time to say goodbye. A song I will never forget.

Vince had a great sense of humour; he was sarcastic at times and could always make you smile. His love was unconditional and kind and if you were fortunate enough to be his friend it meant you did not walk this earth alone. He cared and it showed in everything he did.

Friendship like his is rare, he had a heart of gold and Vince was the best friend one could ever have. Vince was loved and cherished, and his love and devotion will always be remembered. We will love you forever Vincenzo Caruso
