It is with great sadness we announce Viola Rennie of Richmond BC passed away peacefully on April 01, 2019 from complications arising from a stroke, at the ripe old age of 98. She is survived by her son John Rennie (Setsuko), & her daughters Joan Duffy (Bob) & Jean Lau (Simon). As well as her grandchildren, Shannon Pattullo (James), Fraser Lau, Kathryn Lau, & Robert Duffy (Thi). As well as her great grandchildren Caleb Pattullo, Gregor Pattullo, & Quynh Duffy. As well as her nephew Randy Trites (Shirley) Gary Dakin, & nieces, Lorraine Kreuzburg (Donald), Diane Macdonald (Dave) & Gail Smith. Viola was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Jack Rennie, in 2000. She really enjoyed life & talking with people. She was always doing for others.
She was especially known for her cooking & gardening prowess. After her husband died she became a poet & was especially proud of her poem to her mother called “In Memory of her Mother”.
We would like to thank all the staff of Rosewood Manor for all their dedication to Viola’s well being for the last 5 years of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Rosewood Manor Care Foundation would be appreciated.
