Virginia Jean (Gini) Shaw, of Burnaby, BC died on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Palliative Care facility in Burnaby General Hospital after a sudden turn in her battle with Lung Cancer. Gini was born in Calgary, Alberta on February 29, 1948 to Robert and Iris Shaw. She graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1969. After more than 40 successful and impactful years of teaching, most recently in Burnaby at Capitol Hill and Morley Elementary, she retired in 2011. Gini is survived by her sister Bette Bishop, and her son Graeme Shaw. Gini was cremated, and the services will be held July 8, 2017 at Bell & Burnaby funeral home at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
