Mrs. Wai Har Chan

Our beautiful mama, loving Poi Dye and Yen Yen passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on February 23, 2024. Survived by her 3 daughters and a son, Lillian Fitterer (John), Lisa Midgley (John), Sharon Taylor (Jim), Neil Chan (Heather). Mama will also be deeply missed by her daughter-in-law, Shawna Chan and a legacy of beautiful grandchildren, Kelly, Johnny, Terra, Garrett, Haley, Linea, Cassidy, Courtenay, Brendan, Serena, Siena, Hope, Shannon, Jasmine, Stephanie, Nicole, Jeremy plus 2 great-granddaughters, Haven, and Jewel. Helena also leaves behind 7 cherished siblings and their families, extended family, family abroad and many longtime friends. Predeceased by her loving husband, Jou Sun Chan and her beloved son, Jason Chan. Mama loved a round of mahjong and socializing. She could cook up a feast and favourite moments were family together sharing good food, sweet treats, especially dim sum!

A service in celebration of Helena's life will take place at 1pm on Monday, March 11th at Bell and Burnaby Funeral Chapel at 4276 Hastings St in Burnaby, BC. Graveside service to follow.
