It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cho Wan Wah Lee, peacefully on the evening of September 19, 2021. Cho will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 60 years Koon Toon, her son Joseph, two daughters, Vandy and Elise, and her grandchild, Fiona.
Cho was born in Guangdong, China on March 27, 1941 and moved to Hong Kong with her family at an early age. Cho attended the College of Education in Hong Kong to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher. Cho taught Chinese Literature in primary school for almost 30 years while also pursuing her passion for painting.
At the age of 51, the family migrated to Vancouver, Canada. Even though Cho formally retired from teaching, she continued to teach Chinese language to second generation Chinese children to promote the traditions and teachings of Chinese Culture. Cho found great comfort in her pursuit of painting; over the years she produced many works and participated in several art shows in the communities of Port Moody and Coquitlam.
Cho was a devoted member of the Blessings Baptist Church and found great comfort, particularly in the latter years, as she battled with lung cancer. Cho not only found faith, but many great friends to support her over the years.
Cho will forever live in memory of those who loved and cherished her. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted” Matthew 5:4
