Passed away peacefully at Dania Home in Burnaby, BC after lengthy complications from brain surgery. He is survived by his loving son Grant (Michelle) and his granddaughter Renee. Also his brother Brian (Phyllis) in Ontario. Predeceased by his wife Caroline in 2001 and his parents; Ella and George Withers.
Wayne was a whiz with electronics. After graduating from high school he entered U of A in Edmonton where he also joined the DU Fraternity. After leaving U of A he represented a pipeline corrosion prevention company, covering the prairie provinces for a number of years. He and family then moved to Burnaby BC where he joined BCIT in the physics department until he retired. He loved camping and fly fishing and was an avid ham radio operator (VE7WTW).
There will be a private family funeral service and interment at Burnaby Forest Lawn cemetery.
