Wing Shing was born in Hong Kong in 1955. At the age of 37, he immigrated to Canada to join his wife, Bi Qing, to start a family.
A talented chef by trade, Wing Shing spent over 30 years bringing joy to others through his cooking. Whether in a bustling restaurant kitchen or at home with loved ones, he poured care into every dish and took pride in his work. He was a man of few words but deep character—hardworking, humble, and kind.
Wing Shing’s life was a testament to the power of love, persistence, and doing things the right way. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished.
Wing Shing’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and other staff at Burnaby General Hospital for their grace, support and kindness to Wing in his final weeks. This also includes the support and care throughout the past 3 years at both the BC Cancer Agency and Vancouver General Hospital.
There will be a family viewing on Sunday, May 11th. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations made in Wing Shing’s memory to the BC Cancer Agency.
