夏先生一生勤勉樸實,為改善家庭與自身生活奮鬥不懈,享壽九十五歲。夏先生出生於上海,十二歲時父親早逝,因家境所迫而輟學,獨力撫養母親及兩位年幼弟弟,年少便肩負起家庭重任。其後由上海移居香港,在港生活逾四十年,從基層海員一路晉升至主管職位。為了家人更美好的未來,夏先生於一九六〇年代辭去海員工作,轉而從商,從事食品出口生意,直至一九九二年退休。退休後移居加拿大溫哥華,安享晚年。
夏先生虔誠信奉基督教,長年投入教會事奉,熱心公益,積極參與義工服務,樂善好施,深受親友與社群敬重。
他興趣廣泛,包括烹飪、集郵、影片拍攝及各類收藏,生活情趣豐富。
夏先生的父母夏 (志方? Chi fong) 先生與陳月仙女士,以及姐姐夏玉英女士與弟弟夏連城先生,皆已先他而去。身後遺下摯愛妻子莊秋鳳女士、弟弟夏連卿先生、兒子夏海康先生,以及兩名孫子孫女與四名曾孫子,得享四代同堂之福。家人深切哀悼,永懷思念。

Mr. Hoo lived a life marked by diligence, humility, and perseverance, striving tirelessly to improve the lives of his family and himself. He passed away peacefully at the age of 95.
Born in Shanghai, Mr. Hoo lost his father at the age of twelve. Due to financial hardship, he was forced to leave school and take on the responsibility of supporting his mother and two younger brothers at a young age. He later relocated to Hong Kong, where he lived for more than forty years. Beginning his career as a seafarer at an entry-level position, he rose through the ranks to a supervisory role through dedication and hard work. In the 1960s, seeking a better future for his family, Mr. Ha left his maritime career and established a food export business, retiring in 1992. After retirement, he moved to Vancouver, Canada, where he enjoyed his later years.
A devoted Christian, Mr. Hoo faithfully served the church for many years. He was actively involved in charitable causes and volunteer services, known for his generosity and compassion, and was deeply respected by his family, friends, and the wider community.
Mr. Hoo had a wide range of interests, including cooking, stamp collecting, videography, and various forms of collecting, which brought him much joy in life.
Predeceased by his parents, Mr. Ha Chi Fong and Mrs. Chen Yuet Sin, as well as his sister Ms. Ha Yuk Ying and brother Mr. Ha Lin Shing. Mr. Hoo is survived by his beloved wife, Mrs. Chong Chau Fung; his brother, Mr. Ha Lin Hing; his son, Mr. Ha Hoi Hong; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was blessed to witness four generations of his family together and will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
The visitation will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Burnaby Ocean View Cemetery. The funeral service and interment will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., also at Burnaby Ocean View Cemetery.
