Bobbie Louise Maxwell passed away on February 1, 2021 at the age of 91. She was born in Lone Grove, Texas (Llano County) on April 18, 1929 to Robert Edgar Box and Vera Morgan Box. She married Harold Douglas Maxwell (the love of her life) on October 29, 1946.
Bobbie is survived by her son Warren Lee Maxwell (Juanita) of Big Springs, Texas; daughter Bonita Gail Maxwell (Dale Moore) of Burnet, Texas; three grandsons Warren Douglas Maxwell (Alyssa) of Burnet, Texas; Christopher Lee Maxwell of New Ulm, Minnesota and Cody Maxwell (Ashley) of Port Aransas, Texas and five great-grandchildren (Kenseleigh Maxwell, Knox Maxwell, Aden Maxwell, Bella Marie Maxwell and Tyler Maxwell). She is also survived by her sister Billie Jo Box Barton of Kingsland, Texas and sister-in-law Leona Box of Abilene, Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews and very dear friends Hazel Ashby, Marguerite Stockford and Johnnie Hopkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents (Robert Edgar Box and Vera Morgan Box), husband (Harold Douglas Maxwell), brothers (Robert Carlos Box and David Carrol Box) and sister (Valeria Box Hallmark).
Her love of caring for people made her choose a career in nursing where she worked in the ER and Delivery at the old Shepperd Hospital in Burnet and later at the Oaks Nursing Home. After retiring from nursing, she decided to join her husband in his trucking business and traveled (and yes, she drove too) through many parts of this country for the better part of a decade. She loved to dance and attended the bi-monthly dances at the Marble Falls Senior Citizens Center for many years with her dear friends until her health starting failing. She also loved gardening (especially her tomatoes and cucumbers), reading, her cats and her pecan trees (she was famous for her pecan pies and pecan cookie bars).
The family would like to thank the staff at Granite Mesa for their great care of our mom since July 2020 and to New Century Hospice (Christie) for the past 2-1/2 months.
Per her wishes she will be cremated and there will be no visitation or service. The family will gather, at a later date, for a private burial at the Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton, Texas.
Arrangements provided by Clements Wilcox Funeral Home, Burnet, Texas.
