

David Fry passed away on September 20, 2013 at St. David’s Medical Center in Round Rock, Texas after having been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. He was 70 years of age. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lavona Nelson Fry; sister Kay Novinska; sisters-in-law Caroline Eisele, Pat Nelson, and Jan Fry; and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Esther (Gunderson) Fry; his brother, Delos “Dutch” Fry; and brothers-in-law, Bob Novinska, Francis Eisele, and Donavan Nelson. Born in Fennimore, Wisconsin in 1943, David attended the University of Wisconsin at Plattville before transferring to the University of Arizona at Tucson and earning a degree in chemical engineering. He spent his career working for Dow Chemical Company in Freeport, Texas while living in Lake Jackson. He and his wife retired to Burnet in the Texas Hill Country in 2000. A man of many interests, David loved bowling, playing golf, offshore and fresh water fishing, and hunting. He and Lavona enjoyed traveling to Europe to visit friends in various countries, and they toured all over the United States on motorcycles with several other couples. He was actively involved as a volunteer with Junior Achievement. David had a keen appreciation for music of all kinds and had a special talent for remembering song titles and artists. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan.
