

Jerry Lee Haunschild, age 67, of Blanco, TX, passed away on September 20, 2023 quietly at home after a five year battle with Colon Cancer. He amazed his family and friends with his positive attitude. He was born on November 14, 1955, in Kingsville, TX, to Kenneth M. Haunschild and Catherine G. Haunschild.
Jerry was a hardworking and fun-loving individual who had a zest for life. He was known for his social and adventurous nature, always seeking new experiences. Jerry had a passion for traveling and exploring new destinations. He had a friendly and loving personality, cherished by all who knew him.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Lee Haunschild of Blanco, TX. He is also survived by his children: Kenneth William Haunschild (Marci) of Riviera, TX, Jennifer Lee Unterbrink (Gary) of Blanco, TX, and Kevin Wayne Haunschild (Mary) of Jacksonville, NC. Jerry is also survived by his siblings: Steven Haunschild (Don Fuchs) of Coventry, RI, David Haunschild (Eline) of Kingsville, TX, and Janis Haunschild of Kingsville, TX. He leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Graceyn Haunschild of Riviera, TX, Corinne and Nolan Unterbrink of Blanco, TX, and Zachary Herndon, Kahner, and Jacob Haunschild of Jacksonville,NC. Also his precious fur baby, Chico the Chihuahua.
Jerry attended H.M. King High in Kingsville and graduated in 1974. Some of his accomplishments include All-State Choir, Golf and achieving the honor of Eagle Scout during this time. He furthered his education at Texas A&I University, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega. He earned a Bachelor degree in Business Administration in 1978, and was a proud Javelina Alumni.
Jerry had a successful career, working at Haunschild Distributing Company, the family’s business, selling Miller Brewing products along with many imports, from 1978 until 1996.
In 1997, he and his wife, Barbara, started Brush Country Travel, a home-based travel company that grew into a thriving business. In 2015, Jerry discovered another passion in the Highland Lakes area, working with LandMasters Real Estate in Llano Texas.
Jerry worshipped at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kingsville, TX, where he was baptized and confirmed.
In his free time, Jerry enjoyed various hobbies and activities. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Jerry loved to entertain family and friends. He was an avid traveler and cherished moments with his family. Jerry also enjoyed cooking with his wife, Barbara, who was his college sweetheart.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 10:30am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, located at 521 E Doddridge Ave, Kingsville, TX 78363. A light lunch will follow at the church. All are welcome to stay for fellowship and remembrance.

The arrangements have been entrusted to Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet, TX.
Jerry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
