

Michael Warner was born in Liberal Kansas on July 6, 1947. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in August of 1969 and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant. After moving to Houston, Texas to work for a large accounting firm, Mike decided to open his own practice. His family lived in Houston for nearly 30 years before relocating to Burnet, Texas in 1998, where he opened his CPA firm, Michael Warner and Associates. During his 13 years in Burnet, Mike served his beloved community in various capacities, including: long-time member of Kiwanis, past President of the Burnet County Republican Club, Treasurer of the Burnet County Republican Party, Treasurer of Highland Lakes Health Fund. Mike also supported the Annual Bluebonnet Festival by providing communications services and was an avid Ham Radio Operator and member of the Highland Lakes Amateur Radio Club.
Diagnosed with lung cancer in 2008, Mike was always determined to defeat it. Sadly, Mike Warner lost his courageous battle with cancer on June 24, 2011. He died peacefully in Burnet, Texas with his wife, Patricia, at his side.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Elaine Warner and is survived by his wife, Patricia Warner, daughters Christine Townsend and Stephanie Bostick, Son-in-law Roland Bostick and grandchildren: Nicholas Townsend, Garrett Townsend, Dara Townsend, Gabrielle Townsend, Merrin Lamb, and Ryan Bostick, and sister: Janice Boland.
The visitation will be held on Monday, June 27, 2011, from 6pm – 8pm at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Burnet, Texas.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 28th at 10am, at the First United Methodist Church of Burnet with a graveside service immediately following at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park.
