Peggy Loraine Fink

Peggy was born on July 24, 1941 in Richardton ND to Agnes and Mathias Bayer, but grew up in Sturgis SD.

She has 2 brothers and 1 sister

She married her high school sweetheart Gary Fink, in 1959 in Belle Fourche, SD. Together they raised 3 boys.

Helping brighten peoples’ day was her job. In her early years she worked as a nurse. Later while raising 3 boys, she became a hostess at Riefe’s in Davenport IA, Peggy made many long lasting friends. “Mom” was her nickname at Riefe’s and everyone she worked with, she thought of as her “kids”. Not only people were her friends, but animals too.

After retiring, they packed up and started traveling. Spring and summer in IA, fall and winter in AZ and TX. Many longtime friends were made no matter where she went. She even had a new bunch of “kids” at the RV park – deer. Every day they would come by and Mom would be there to feed them. They even were given names and were scolded if they got out of line.

Peggy is survived by Gary, husband of 57 years.

Sister Ardith (Don) Smith, of Medford, OR. Brothers Floyd (Nina) Bayer, of Davenport, IA., Darrel (Betty) Bayer, of Casper, WY.

3 sons, Mike Fink, Spring Valley, CA., Rodney (Sandi) Fink, of Bettendorf, IA., and Willy (Jennie) Fink, of Davenport, IA. And 6 grandkids and 11 great- grand kids. And many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service in the Quad-Cities to be planned at a later date.
