Rickey Lee White, 75, of Buchanan Dam, Texas, peacefully passed away and went home to see the Lord at 4:49 a.m. on June 17th, 2022 surrounded by loved ones after a difficult battle with heart and lung issues.
Rickey was born on November 29th, 1946 to Norton & Edna Merle White in the bustling city of Houston. After Rickey graduated from South Houston High school in 1964, he was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War. After returning, he entered into a career in the waterworks manufacturing and distribution industry. He loved this career and then retired in 2012, however, his love of cooking, gardening and spending time with the love of his life made his dream come true.
Rickey, as known by all, always found a way to make people laugh. He always saw life as half full and relished in making others giggle. Even to the very end, he had the doctors and nurses rolling laughing. He was able to see and talk to all of his children and grandchildren the night before he passed. He had each one laughing…. and crying and just went out in Pappy style! He will be missed greatly but we all rejoice in knowing he is with our Lord and Savior and fully healed…he probably is making even Him laugh!
Rickey is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Judy White and their three children and spouses: Erich Norton and Jill Ellen White of Madisonville, Louisiana, Dustin Lee and Crystal Ann White of Killeen, Texas and Jennifer Nichole and Timothy Brian Sedgwick of Tomball, Texas. He leaves behind eight grandchildren: Jake Erich White, Mckenzie Nichole White, Gavin Steele White, Gannon Lee White, Kendall Addison White, Cole Hunter Sedgwick, Avery Grace Sedgwick, and Bailey Faith Sedgwick. Rickey also leaves behind his big brother Norton Ellis White, Jr and his wife, Janet White, of Houston, Texas. He also leaves behind numerous dearly loved uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends. He was and will always be a loved man. That is without question.
Rickey is preceded in death by his parents Norton Ellis White, Sr and Edna Merle Butler.
