Bobby was born on 11/21/1962 in Dallas, Texas to Bill and Kay Carter. Bobby graduated from East Texas State University with a degree in Computer Software Engineering and had a long career in Technology, most recently with BI, Inc. and CSG.
In 1983 Bobby married Kimberly Ann Busby and they were blessed by two lovely, talented daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Carter and Rebekah Anne Carter. Bobby and Kim were married for 36 years before Kimberly passed away in 2019.
Bobby remarried on May 31, 2025, to Kate Denefe, after they had dated for 3 ½ years. Although it was a short marriage, due to Bobby’s passing, it was a blessed and happy marriage celebrated by both families.
Bobby spent much of his later life cooking, doing photography, and caring for his family. He was a much-loved husband, father, and Papa. His dedication to family, beautiful smile, unmatched wit, loving heart, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by us all. Bobby was a man of great Christian faith and an adventurous soul who has now passed on to the greatest adventure of all.
Robert is survived by his daughters: Sarah Perkins (Kevin) and Rebekah Hartman (Gregory), his wife: Kate Denefe, his beloved grandkids: Charlotte, Gideon, Adalynn, Emory, Clark, his brother: Billy Carter, and his mother: Kay Carter. He is also survived by his stepsons: Ian Denefe (Alyssa), Noah Denefe (Pond), and grandson Danny.
Arrangements have been made through Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, in Burnet Texas, for a simple graveside service at Liberty Hill Cemetery on Friday May 22, 2026 at 4:00 P.M., as Bobby would have wished. Any who feel called to join his family at the graveside are welcome. In lieu of gifts or flowers, contributions to the national Kidney Foundation (who greatly helped Bobby during kidney failure) or to the National Park Foundation (where he loved traveling over the years) would be greatly appreciated.
