

Robert Wallace McAllister, 65, died surrounded by his children and wife on November 25, 2024 in Burnet/Austin. Robert was born on his mother’s birthday, February 6, 1959 in Waterford, Maine to his father, Robert Arlen McAllister and mother, Barbara Bernadette McAllister.
Robert spent his childhood living on the Air Force base with his parents and siblings in Mississippi. As a child, he attended Catholic school, liked to hunt and fish, and play sports, specifically baseball. He went by Bobby in his younger years. Robert had three siblings, Janet McAllister, Kenney Marie McAllister, and Denis McAllister. He graduated from Lee High School in Columbus, Mississippi in 1978. He moved to Texas after high school, and continued to call Texas home for the rest of his life.
Robert married his wife, Melissa McAllister, on May 23, 1987, they were married 37 years. Robert and Melissa shared three children, Bobby McAllister, Courtney McAllister, and Katie McAllister. Although Robert and Melissa met in Dallas, Texas, they moved to Mississippi for a short period of time and then back to Texas, specifically Austin/Georgetown.
Robert had a career in imaging solutions and document systems and he retired in May 2022. He enjoyed archery and won many local and state tournaments. Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing and teaching his children how to hunt and fish. He had a knack for finding artifacts and arrowheads and found some of the best ones out of the family. He was an animal lover, and had many pets over his life, from snakes and lizards to cats and dogs. Most recently, he had two dogs, Stella and Buddy, and two cats, Fuzz and Jimmie. He also had a specific feeder just for deer watching from the house.
Robert is survived by his wife, Melissa McAllister, and his son, Bobby McAllister and spouse, Heather Marek, his daughter, Courtney McAllister, and his daughter, Katie McAllister. His grandchildren, Rowdy, Rhyatt, Kasen, and Katylynn. His sister, Janet Williams, and his brother, Denis McAllister, his niece, Karine, and his nephew, Rory, and many beautiful nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Barbara McAllister, his sister, Kenney Marie McAllister, and his nephew, Cody Williams.
A celebration of life lunch will be held at Mighty Fine Burgers, a favorite of Roberts, on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 1-3pm in Cedar Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hill Country Cats organization (https://www.hillcountrycats.org/give/), an organization Robert was appreciative of.
