

Shirley was born on January 22, 1925 to John Shirley and Leola Robins in Post, Texas. She grew up later in Big Springs, Texas where she attended then graduated from Big Spring High School in 1942. During her high school years, she sang on the radio, played golf and rode horses with her best friend.
In 1943, she married Robert Eugene Colquitt. She had her first daughter, Robbie Gene Colquitt, on October 5, 1944. Her husband, Gene, was shot down over Japan on a training mission in 1945. She later married Howard Bruce Robertson on Easter Sunday April 6, 1947. She had her second daughter, Karol Bruce Robertson on September 23, 1948.
Shirley was a very talented seamstress and amazing photographer. She enjoyed water skiing and playing golf. Her father was a gold pro at Big Springs Country Club, Inks Lake and Packsaddle Golf Course.
In 1950 the family moved to Flagstaff, Arizona and eventually settled in Phoenix until they came to Buchanan Dam, Texas in 1978. She worked at Diamonds Department Store in Phoenix for a short time in the 1960’s. She was a dedicated Christian, wife and mother. She always gave of herself instead of to herself.
Shirley is survived by 2 children, Robbie Gen Colquitt Weaver and Karol Bruce Robertson Willard. Along with 2 grandchildren, Kandis Martin Willard Ray and Christopher Brian Willard. Five great-grandchildren, Sunni Parker Crayter, Mathew Parker, Austin Parker, Talon Willard and Colton Willard. Three great-great grandchildren, Brooklynn Crayter, Tatum Crayter and Karlee Crayter. As well as her sister, Mary Warren of Austin, Texas and her 2 sons John Mark and Brett Warren.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents John Shirley and Leola Robbins and her husbands, Robert Eugene Colquitt and Howard Bruce Robertson
A memorial service will be held at Buchanan West Baptist Church for Shirley on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM.
