Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Friend
May 9, 1950 – May 6, 2025
Wanda Elizabeth Wills, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, just three days before her 75th birthday. Born on May 9, 1950, Wanda brought light and love into the world with her gentle spirit, unwavering strength, and boundless heart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Clara Dee Christmas; her cherished stepfather, Roy “Cowboy” Christmas—whom she deeply admired and loved; and her father, Bob Mercer. Wanda carried their love with her always, and their influence helped shape the strong, graceful woman we all knew and loved.
Wanda’s life was a testament to love and devotion. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Mitchell and husband Chuck, and Jaynelle Didway and husband Mark. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her grandchildren: Hailey Troester and husband Kyle, Tanner Childress, Amber Alexander and husband Caleb, Matthew Didway and wife Jana, Taylor Didway and wife Sarah, Angelia Scott and husband Ezekiel, Lily Mitchell, and Charles Mitchell. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Tony Wills.
Her greatest joy in life was her family, and her heart grew with every great-grandchild who entered her world: Lincoln, Sawyer, Baylor, Devin, Miller, Hudson, Madeline, Tuck, ClaraDee, and James. Each one was a treasured gift, deeply cherished and loved beyond measure. Wanda was especially excited and full of joy as she looked forward to the arrival of her newest great-granddaughter, expected in October 2025. Though she didn’t get to hold her in her arms, we know she had already wrapped her in love. That little one, like all the others, will grow up surrounded by the blessing of Wanda’s gentle, guiding spirit—a love that will never fade, even from heaven.
Wanda was the heart of her family—a steady source of strength, comfort, and wisdom. Her laughter could brighten any room, and her unwavering love anchored everyone around her. She was endlessly giving, deeply thoughtful, and quietly powerful. Her presence was woven into the fabric of daily life, and the space she leaves behind is immeasurable.
Though our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing she is now at rest, watching over us with the same tender care she so freely gave in life. Her love lives on in each of us—in the way we care, in the way we give, and in the way we live.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff and dear friends at Fresenius Kidney Care in Marble Falls. Wanda loved and appreciated each of you deeply, and your kindness brought her great comfort and joy in her final years.
Wanda Elizabeth Wills will be forever missed, forever cherished, and forever loved.
Rest peacefully, Mom. We love you beyond measure.
A private family gathering and burial took place on Friday, May 9th at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park.
