Harold Zane Houghton came to us on October 17, 1937, in Morton, Texas and left us on January 16, 2012 at his home. Waiting to greet our Dad were his parents Champion and Verna Mae (Oakes) Houghton, five sisters, and four brothers rejoicing his arrival. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of forty-nine years Gwen Houghton, sons Eddie Houghton and Craig Houghton and wife Katerina and daughters Sissie Daughtry and Johnnye Faye Mourer and husband Kris. Also surviving are grandchildren Billy Joe, Brandon and wife Jessica, Jesseca and Travis as well as five great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Jack “Wimpy” Houghton and wife John and also numerous nieces and nephews.
Zane loved music and played the drums but was an electrician by profession. He enjoyed his time with family and friends. He lived in the Hill Country that he loved for thirty years and called it home. He will be deeply missed by everyone that loved him.
