He was born on June 20, 1942, in Oakland, Calif., to his mother Inez Audrey Jamison and his father Lawrence Donald Jamison. Shortly after his arrival, Jim and his parents moved to South Dakota, where he would spend his youthful years on a farm.
At 17 years of age, Jim joined the Army and was stationed in Germany, where he learned to be a mechanic. He was discharged with honors on Aug. 31, 1965. For the next 15 years, he serviced VW and Porche motor vehicles, but his heart was still drawn to his youth as a farmer.
After years of saving, Jim accomplished his goal and became a farmer in Big Valley, Calif., where he remained a farmer for the next 35 years. The relationships he made along the way were a priceless treasure.
Jim married the woman of his dreams in 1979 and earned 33 years of wonderful memories.
Survivors include his wife Elaine Jamison, seven children, 20 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his sister.
A celebration of his life will be at Adin Community Center on July 19, 2012, at 6 p.m.
If one phrase can sum up Jim's 70 years of life, it is this: "Jim mastered Life because he mastered Love."
