Rose Terese Wright

Rose Terese Wright, age 86, passed away from abdominal cancers on October 24, 2014 with her son Martin and daughter-in-law Roxanne Wright at her side. They had been caring for her at their ranch home in Big Valley CA. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as a beloved sister and aunt.

Rose was born in Oakland CA. on January 31, 1928 to Martin and Lucille Wondra. She was the youngest of five children. The whole family attended St. Elizabeth Church. Rose graduated from St. Elizabeth High School in 1945.

Rose Terese met Leon Joseph Wright at the Franciscan Club. They were married at St. Elizabeth Church 1946 and they lived in Castro Valley, CA. Teresa Ann was born 1947 and Phillip Joseph was born 1948. Pauline Rose was born 1952 and Martin Conrad was born 1954. Rose and Leon divorced in 1959. Rose and the children moved to Oakland CA and in 1962 the family relocated to Livermore CA.

After her children had grown to adults, Rose moved to Santa Rosa CA. At age 50, Rose graduated magna cum laude from Santa Rosa Junior College with an AA Degree in 1978. Then she moved to Carson City NV and worked at Carson Tahoe Hospital in the Admission and Out Patient departments for over 10 years. In 1990 she retired to Templeton CA to be a resident caretaker for a few years. Rose then moved into an apartment in Paso Robles CA until 2012 when she moved to her son’s ranch in Big Valley CA.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Lucille, brother Ed Wondra, sister Joan Bokanich, and granddaughter Shelby Wright. Rose is survived by her sisters Marie Knetzger and Maxine McLear as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rose is survived by her four children Teresa (and William) Schroeder, Phillip (and Tatyana) Wright, Pauline (and Dennis) Ferrera, and Martin (and Roxanne) Wright. Rose has four grandsons Steven, David (and Angela), and John Schroeder; and Laramie Wright. Rose has six great-grandchildren Savannah (18), Harrison (16), Sarah (14), and Henry (12) Schroeder in Reno NV; Jessica Rose (12) and Wyatt (9) Schroeder in Atascadero CA.

There will be a private graveside service for Rose Terese at the Santa Margarita Cemetery in the Ferrera Family Plot. A priest from St. Rose Church in Paso Robles CA will preside over the service. In lieu of flowers please contribute your time, talent, or treasure to a church or charity of your choice in memory of Rose who loved to give to others.
